What’s the Difference Between CPR and First Aid?
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation): A vital emergency procedure used when someone has stopped breathing or their heart has stopped beating. It involves performing chest compressions and rescue breaths to keep oxygen flowing to the brain and vital organs.
- First Aid: A broader set of emergency skills used to provide initial care for injuries or illnesses. This can include treating burns, controlling bleeding, managing allergic reactions, bandaging wounds, and administering CPR.

They need to show this proof to the trainer on the training day. This requirement applies only to the Express First Aid, Express CPR and Express Childcare First Aid courses. Standard CPR, Standard First Aid, Standard Childcare First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis courses do not require any online pre-work. Students can attend these courses directly without completing online learning.
